My grandmother always seems to come to me when she wants to find something on the web. We've bought her her own computer and showed her how to use it, but she's still really afraid to order anything online. Recently, she's been bugging me to help her find a curio cabinet to match her living room, for her to display some of her Norman Rockwell plate collection. I finally went over one day after work to help her search for a curio cabinet, though I never honestly thought we'd find one that would match her old school decor. Her living room is your typical, old fashioned living room. But I mean, she's Portuguese, your typical Portuguese Vovo. That is the only way I can explain it (which also let's me know how my living room will look when I'm that old!). Anyways, we did some searching and not to long into our search we found a company called Displays2go. They had an awesome selection of curio cabinets and even had one that matched my grandmother's decor! It was a miracle. The curio cabinet had this ornate moulding and came in a Honey Wheat finish. My grandmother threw her credit card at me while she was jumping up and down with delight. (I know what you're thinking. Yes, she can still jump up and down. For goodness sake, she's not dead!)
My grandmother was very stern when she told me I HAD to be there when they came to deliver the curio cabinet. So on the day it was scheduled to arrive, I was there to inspect the cabinet. Straight out of the box it came in, the curio cabinet looked exactly like the one we found on the web. I was relieved, because sometimes you never know with online shopping. We set up my grandmother's Norman Rockewell plates in the curio cabinet, and she just sat there in awe at it's beauty. She was so happy, she even gave me a dollar as a reward, and told me "Now make sure you don't go spending all that money all in one place!" Ah, grandmothers....
