Thankfully in Carlos’ panicked state, he was able to remember his wife’s love of chachkas and random knickknacks, which she prominently displayed in their living room on a baker’s rack! My parents are always the hardest people to buy for, when it comes to birthdays and holidays. But this year I have the perfect gift idea. They have a ton of dinnerware just shoved into a closet, that barely sees the light of day. Its sad really. I thought the perfect gift would be a bakers rack, one where they could put all of the dinnerware out on display. On a bakers rack, the items would also be at the ready if they had company pop in for a visit. I searched a bunch of different websites, looking for one to coordinate with their dining room, and one within my budget. I finally stumbled across a company called Displays2go. They had a few bakers racks to choose from. One in particular happened to stand out.

The bakers rack I found came with 4 frosted glass shelves a black metal frame. The metal frame had this decorative style to it, making it more contemporary than your usual bakers racks. Usually bakers racks are designed more for "country" type homes, and our house is definitely not country in the least. With a decor consisting of only black, red and white, I had to get something contemporary enough to blend in. The website said the bakers rack was in stock and ready to ship, if ordered by 1pm EST. I had 10 minutes til 1, so I ordered as quickly as possible. A couple days later, I received the bakers rack. I set it up, while no one was home. I even took all the dinnerware out of the dusty old closet, cleaned them, and put them on display. When it was all set up, I stood back admiring my gift and my work. It was like a piece of art, glowing in its bakers rack radiance. (I don't know, it sounded good to me) When my parents got home, they couldn't believe it. My crazy mother even started to cry! "Its a beaut Clark, a real beaut!" she said. Mission accomplished.
