Have you ever noticed how most clothing stores have the same old boring chrome store fixtures? It’s almost like every store follows a handbook of rules, and the store owner hears the clothing store gods’ booming voice say “You must buy cheap chrome store fixtures!” because in almost every store you see the same boring displays. Granted, what is on the display is what is supposed to matter, like clothes or other types of merchandise. But being the store fixture connosier that I am, I always pay attention to those types of things.
Recently, I went into this Harley Davidson store, and it was like they said “To hell with cheap chrome!” Their store was outfitted with these clothing fixtures that had a silver diamond plate finish. The finish really seemed to go along with all of the other Harley merchandise in the store. I thought to myself “Finally, someone is challenging the clothing store gods and breaking the mold!” All of the different-shape clothing fixtures all matched, with the same diamond plate finish. They even had some perimeter systems (some more “store fixture” jargon for you novices) along the walls as well, which seemed to coordinate with the clothing fixtures. Each of the clothing fixtures also had casters, which I’m sure allow the clerk in charge of the floor plan reorganize with ease. I was so excited about the diamond plate clothing fixtures, I wanted to find the man/woman responsible and shake their hand. But when I asked a few of the clerks they looked at me like I was a crazy person and eventually called security to escort me out. They just don’t have the same appreciate for quality clothing fixtures with casters that I do. Maybe another day!
